• Coming from shelters or established programs, rather than directly off the street. 
• Aged out of the foster care system, but need a more traction to get start
• Needing guidance and accountability to grow  

The Light Community exists to provide a safe, structured, faith‑centered environment where individuals can: 

• Grow spiritually and emotionally 
• Strengthen recovery
• Develop healthy routines 
• Participate in meaningful work 
• Build practical skills 
• Prepare for long‑term independence 

This is a working homestead.  Every resident contributes to the life, health, and mission of the community. 

Residents at The Light Community participate in a structured, working homestead environment. Expectations include: 

• Weekly Biblical counseling 
• Monthly program fee: $450 - Our goal is to work towards this as quickly as possible 
• Safe and sober living environment maintained through random drug testing 
• Six hours of week of community give back time at The Light Community or other approved ministry Employment at some point during the program 
• Weekly community Bible Study participation  
• Farm animal care (goats, chickens, ducks, horses) 
• Gardening & landscaping 
• Respectful engagement in community life, community spaces, and homestead responsibilities 

 For the safety and stability of the community, The Light Community cannot accept: 

• Individuals with arson convictions 
• Individuals with sexual predator or sexual offense histories 
• Individuals with severe unmanaged mental health conditions (Mental health concerns are evaluated case‑by‑case to ensure safety and appropriate support)
• Individuals coming directly off the street without prior program structure
• Individuals unwilling to participate in community expectations, volunteerism, or homestead responsibilities
